Apple Leisure Group and Grupo Inversor Hesperia reopen two five-star hotels in Lanzarote
Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resorts & Spa, the first of the brand in Europe, makes its inaugural opening as a Dreams-branded resort after a prepandemic 20 million euros renovation
Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa reopens after being closed since January 2021
JUNE 10, 2021– Apple Leisure Group® (ALG), a leading US group of companies in the leisure travel segment, and Grupo Inversor Hesperia, which owns and and operates these properties, reopened two five-star resorts on the island of Lanzarote on May 28: Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa, which opened its doors as a Dreams-branded resort for the first time after an extensive renovation, and Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa.
Boasting 465 rooms, the opening of Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa is a double milestone for Apple Leisure Group: it is the first time that the property opens its doors under an AMResorts brand, and it is also the first AMResorts Dreams-branded resort in Europe. Prior to its opening, the hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation valued at 20 million euros to meet the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand standards.
Located on the beachfront of Playa Blanca and a 10-minute walk from the Marina Rubicón, this is a five-star family resort with a strong gastronomic offering that combines international and local concepts through its five restaurants and nine bars, and offers exclusive services for members of the Preferred Club.
Among its facilities, Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada has nine heated swimming pools, some of them with water slides, spa facilities with an exclusive sports center and a wellness center with body and facial treatments, and a fitness area open 24 hours with pool bike, aquagym, yoga and pilates classes. In addition, children have access to an extensive activities and entertainment at the Explorer’s Club while teenagers can enjoy the Core Zone Club with leisure options customized for their age range.
The Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa, five-star adults-only concept has operated under the Secrets Resorts & Spa brand since January 2020, and has opened and closed on several occasions due to Covid-19 restrictions, and is the second Secrets-branded resort in Europe.
Javier Coll, Group President of Global Business Development mentioned “each opening we have in Spain is a great accomplishment for the group, while we look at the booking pace with optimism and continue to impulse the leisure travel segment reactivation in Europe, in preparation for the summer season.
Located in the tourist center of Puerto Calero, on the seafront and with six heated outdoor pools, each of its 335 rooms includes the 'Unlimited Experience” concept which exemplifies the highest-end AMResorts establishments in Europe, with a vast gastronomy offering, premium drinks and daily minibar refill and a varied sports and wellness offer.
With this inaugural opening of Dreams and the reopening of Secrets, as of Friday, June 4th, there are 12 hotels operating under the AMResorts brands currently open in Spain, where the company has a total of 47 assets and 12,239 rooms that position the group as the fourth largest hotel company by number of beds in the country.
Javier Águila, President of AMResorts Europe and Global Strategy of the group, stated “we launched the summer campaign with great optimism based on the progress of the vaccine rollout, the recovery of mobility and the desire and intent of the source markets and local tourist to travel.”
Gonzalo Alcaraz, Business managing director for GIHSA, said: we are thrilled to continue raising the bar with these resorts that offer outstanding quality in a safe destination such as Lanzarote, and we trust that the segment will continue to recover in the coming months!
Both resorts reopened their doors in accordance with all local sanitary and safety measures and after the implementation of the CleanComplete Verification™ quality, safety and hygiene program backed by Intertek Cristal, a global leader in health, safety, quality control and risk. The program includes a POSI-Check audit, specially designed to develop and monitor an efficient response to COVID-19 in the restaurant and hospitality sectors with the aim of preserving the health of employees and customers.
In addition, they offer the possibility of getting onsite Covid-19 tests, both PCR and antigens, at a special price to facilitate client compliance with the COVID regulations for their return to their countries.
